Triund - Indrahar Pass is a highly recommended and famous trek for novices and experienced trekkers. Nestled in the lap of Dhauladhar range at an altitude of 2828 metres(9278 feet).Triund offeres the spellbinding views of lofty Dhauladhar’s range on one side and Kangra Valley towards the other. Its an ideal place to pitch the tents and soak oneself in the beauty and aura of this place. Triund is 10 kilometres (one way) from Mcleodgunj bus stand and under 6 kilometres (one way) from Galu temple near Dharamkot. The trail is mostly rocky and passes through beautiful forest of Deodar and oak trees.There are couple of tea stalls on the way.
3 kilometres up and ahead lies a much secluded and beautiful place called Snowline 3300 metres(10826 feet).The beautiful sunset view is something not be missed from here.The nights are quite cold as compared to Triund. Further ahead lies Ilaqa Got which is the base of Indrahar Pass(4342 metres).Apart from the sense of achievement the views of snow clad Pir Panjal range, sacred Mani Mahesh Peak and Kangra valley from the top of the pass will leave you speechless.
DAY 1 DHARAMKOT
Vehicle will pick you up from the main bus stand followed by checking into the hotel. After breakfast you can rest or enjoy the surrounding area and visit Galu Devi temple. Post lunch visiting nearby famous Bhagsunag waterfall will refresh you. Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 2 DHARAMKOT – TRIUND ( 4 to 6 hours)
After breakfast, our trek will commence from Galu. Enjoying the scenic beauty of mountains, valleys and away from the hustle bustle of city you will follow the rocky terrain as takes 4 to 5 hours to reach Triund. The close view of mighty Dhauladhars and the enchanting Kangra valley is indescribable from here. Overnight camp.
DAY 3 TRIUND – ILLAQA GOT ( around 3 hours)
After breakfast we will slowly ascend onto the ridge and follow the rocky path which will lead you to Illaqa Got passing a solitary tea shop( also referred as snowline cafe) . Beautiful green pastures and vastness of southern face of Dhauladhar range can be seen from here. Its much secluded as compared to Triund as this place witnesses fewer visitors. As the night falls, millions of stars will greet and splendid view of milkyway will enthrall you. Bonfire and overnight camp at Ilaqa Got which is the base of Indrahar Pass.
DAY 4 ILLAQA GOT – INDRAHAR PASS (6 - 7 hours)
Today will be an exciting day as we’ll be trekking all the way up to much awaited Indrahar pass(4342 metres). We will leave early morning after breakfast and pass Lahesh Cave, a cave which can easily accommodate around twenty people and is used by gaddi shepherds and trekkers. This area is covered with huge boulders and snow patches thus making it slippery at sections. It takes 6-7 hours to reach the top of the pass from where the panaromic views of Dhauladhar range and sacred Mani Mahesh Peak are splendid and breathtaking.We will trek back to Ilaqa Got for overnight camp.
DAY 5 ILLAQA GOT – MCLEODGUNJ (6 to 7 hours)
After breakfast we will descend back at a leisurely pace to Mcleodgunj via Triund. Its an easy downhill trek all the way down but being cautious is very important.
